SUCCESS IN LIFE IS UNDERSTANDING HOW YOUR THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS CREATE YOUR REALITY

“Be Careful What You Pray For, You Might Just Get It!”

For many of us we have the experience of praying for something and yet it never arrives. Why?

Achieving dreams is something all human beings aspire to. More often than not when we look at the achievements of others it seems that they have the ability to make their dreams come real and “I” seems to be continually wishing upon a star! Why is it that some people have so much more in their lives than others? Is there a strategy? Is it possible for one and all to achieve success in life?

Many of us stumble through life not really understanding why things happen in and around us and quite often envying the lot of another person. From my observations this seems to be a fairly natural human trait and nothing to be ashamed of. But wouldn’t it be more exciting if we could be a stronger more responsible co-creator and thereby bring about the life we desire?

I have been looking into life coaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming in order to see for myself why it is becoming so popular. And what I have found is that NLP helps one to bridge communication difficulties as well as help one to understand how thoughts, opinions and resulting beliefs mould your every day reality. Whereas a coach is your personal champion which helps you to identify where your thoughts have created limiting beliefs and then finding a strategy to release, let go and move forward, and very often coaches will have trained in NLP.

By actively reading and speaking to a good friend who is passionate about NLP and working with a coach I have discovered even more so how my thoughts have moulded and created my reality. It all starts with my thoughts then the resulting emotions from those thoughts which drove me to certain actions.

So How do you Create Your Reality?

“You are the sum of your thoughts and emotions” is a saying that is passed around in the human potential movement today. This is very much based on the mystical traditions of all religions who have said from the earliest times that what you think you attract whether the positive or negative aspects thereof. Is there evidence of this - yes there is! One only has to see the lives of people who see life as a glass that is half full compared to those who view it as half empty! And we all know of people like that within our environment.

Thoughts

It has been shown through the studies of the parapsychological units in countries such as America, UK, Russia, China and Japan that thoughts are in fact electromagnetic energy and can be monitored quite successfully using modern equipment that measures the electrical and magnetic impulses emitted from the brain as a person thinks.

A thought form therefore is REAL entity and it has a material like substance. The reason you seem unaware of it, is because the wave vibration of a thought form is outside the physical senses. It in fact operates faster than the speed of light.

For the majority of people their thoughts are ideas that reside inside their heads and are strictly private and for their own use. Through our ability to think we are able to figure out things, evaluate situations, make decisions all of which result in us physiologically generating and experiencing feelings.

To give you an analogy of this - think of the radio or TV and say your favorite channel is on FM 98.8 and channel 3. The broadcasting stations beam the frequency out into the atmosphere and you then use a tuner - radio or television - to tune into these frequencies in order to make some sense of them. The 98.8 refers to the megahertz frequency utilised to beam the programmes out into the atmosphere and which exist all around you at any given time until you tune in through an appropriate device. So in effect you are like a mini broadcasting station - constantly beaming your thought forms (both positive and negative) into the atmosphere in and around you. Thus - along with all the other information floating around in the atmosphere around you, the city, town or planet so too are the many thoughts of people inhabiting this planet.

A thought form can be best described as an intent to fulfil a desire or intention. Thus “like attracts like” or “similar thought forms attract similar thought forms” in order to help define the thinkers intentions.

In mystical traditions it has been said that when the third eye is opened one can perceive the human energy field in which resides the thoughts of the person. By scanning the energy field you are able to see the type of thoughts that a person has about themselves, their friends, family, work colleagues, events or circumstances. For most of us we tend to feel this. For example have you ever walked into a room and instantly felt uncomfortable talking to someone you are introduced to. This is because you are feeling their energy field which is full of their thoughts.

Beliefs

A belief is when you accept your thoughts as being true. Thus all your individual thoughts that create your beliefs make up your personality. Beliefs can be seen to be a specialised thought form. By this your thoughts have attracted events, circumstances, relationships that substantiate your original thought form and with enough positive or negative reinforcement becomes your underlying belief.

You may disagree with this because you may have just thought “Surely I have to experience something in order to believe it?” In the physics of thought it is in fact the other way round - you only experience something when you have a belief in it. How can you experience something if you have no knowledge or belief in its possibility? Your experiences therefore confirm your original thought and which then allows it to become a belief.

Let’s give an example here:- If you are poor - can you experience being rich? If you think that you are academically not bright can you experience what it is like to be a genius?

Therefore beliefs are both subconscious and conscious. The conscious beliefs you have are those you are aware of whilst those in the sub-conscious are those you have forgotten or not aware of. Both beliefs come in positive and negative qualities. An example of a negative deep sub-conscious belief is “I never get things to go my way, I never experience lucky breaks”. The original belief will have set in childhood when you tried to express yourself and were disciplined for it thus reinforcing that your opinion about matters is not worthy. An empowering deep sub-conscious belief would be one that states “I am totally protected by the Universe, I am safe and loved”. This again would have been reinforced during childhood and thus becomes an underlying reality to your ability to live in the world.

When more than one person agrees on a particular subject, circumstance, event then it becomes a shared belief. Shared belief systems extend to many individuals. Religion and politics are good examples of shared belief systems. Every person has a right to his or her own beliefs and so it would be true to say that everyone has his/her own truth too. Truth itself belongs to the believer and there are as many truths as there are believers. Whilst we can share a similar belief with another person we each have our own individual unique perspective on the belief.

Thus you are totally responsible for your world and your reality of the world. Mine will be different as will all those within your family and friends.

PAUSE for a moment and ask yourself if you have ever stopped to wonder how others perceive you. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk in another’s shoes? The most important thing for you to remember is that no-one can tell how to think, or what to think because ultimately it is a choice you make within your head and heart and which then has a chemical reaction in the body and results in generating a feeling.

There is a universal truth that those beliefs, characteristics, thoughts we criticise in others are in fact the very aspects of ourselves that we need to deal with and heal within ourselves. If you are constantly trying to convince others of your truth then you need to ask yourself the question “Do I really believe this myself?”. By trying to convince another of your own truth implies that you actually doubt your own belief. Usually what happens in this scenario is that your voice and attitude become overpowering and overbearing thus either extracting a violent response back, or “literally” killing their inner spirit by not honoring their personal beliefs. It takes a truly great person with great wisdom and understanding to allow you to speak your truth and then walk away knowing that no matter what is said and done you stand individually in your truth at any given time.

The studies in parapsychology and human potential continually show us that people that enter into our lives are the best mirror we have of ourself in varying degrees and where we have not healed ourselves personally.

By that I mean the positive and negative qualities that you perceive in another is a direct reflection of who you are. For most of us it is uncomfortable to think that the “bad habits” or “characteristics” we notice in another are in fact within us, but actually the only way we can recognise it in another is because we recognise it first and foremost through our own self-awareness of personal self. We are totally 100% responsible for our thoughts, actions and reactions to the thoughts, actions and reactions of those around us.

Psychologists and psychiatrists have written plenty on the games that people play throughout life. For example - always having to be right, always having to have the last word, always moving when things get rough, constantly gossiping about others faults, avoiding personal faults. There are basic categories that people and their characters, which are based upon their thoughts and beliefs about themselves and the world around them, fall into. In the world of psychology these are known as archetypes. So you will get the martyr, the warrior, the giver, the taker, the joker, the sage, the rapist etc etc.

Successful dreaming is possible when you to come to understand the laws of physics and chemistry that lie behind each thought and feeling. For more interest on this subject read Autobiography of a Yogi, Molecules of Emotion by Candace Pert, Awaken the Giant within by Anthony Robbins, Ageless Body Timeless Mind by Deepak Chopra, Life was never Meant to be a Struggle by Stuart Wilde or any information from the Heart Math Institute.

If you aren’t achieving the life of your dreams … what underlying thought has created the “lack” you experience in your life? Where in your deepest subconscious are you still focusing intently on what you don’t want?

Successful Dreaming and Manifesting

Happens when you realise that the thoughts and resulting emotions another inspires within you - be they positive or negative - are only a mirror of your internal self and highlight where you need to heal and learn to value yourself whilst at the same time lighting up the underlying reason why your dreams are not coming to fruition.

The “gift of healing and value” each person gives you daily by reflecting back your positive qualities and negative qualities through their words and actions and judgement of each, gives one the ability to thank another for both pain and joy. It is also the road inward and a chance to work on the potential gateways of weakness that we all possess as human beings. Once having started this inward journey we can do a lot with goal setting, positive affirmations, visualisation, sound and meditation in order to bring about our dream.

Those who achieve what seem greater successes than ours understand this philosophy only too well and utilise it daily. Everyone and everything is your teacher - the question is are you willing to look inward to find the manifestation of success outward?

“Each new day is a beautiful journey. A chance to explore the boundless world of our dreams. Dream what you want to dream. Go where you want to go. Be who you want to be. And remember to enjoy every step of life's journey. For the essence of each new day is unique and fleeting. Minutes are grains of sand that slip all too quickly through our fingers. Leaving only memories .... so follow your dream wherever it may lead you and remember to enjoy each and every step along the way.”

Oriah Mountain Dreamer

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's desire.

It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for Love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being Alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life's betrayals - or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy - mine or your own. If you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you - to the tips of your fingers and toes, without cautioning us to be careful, be realistic, or to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you're telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself. If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul. I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore be trustworthy. I want to know if you can see beauty even when it is not pretty every day, and if you can source your life from God’s presence. I want to know if you can live with failure - yours and mine and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon “Yes!”

It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after a night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for the children.

It doesn't interest me to know where you are or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away. I want to know if you can be alone with yourself, and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.
